From the time that you begin your job search and start submitting applications, employers are checking for proper grammar. In most cases, employers heavily review the information provided on a resume prior to contacting an individual to set up an interview. A resume must have the potential to speak for you when you are unable to speak for yourself in addition to being able to stand out from other applicants. Below is a great tip that can be utilized on your resume or any paper that you write: **Avoid the first person pronoun** The pronoun I has no place in a resume — and for a logical reason: Who else would you be talking about if not yourself? Instead of this: *I demonstrated professionalism, tact, and diplomacy while I worked with our customers in high-pressure situations.* Write this: *Demonstrated professionalism, tact, and diplomacy while working with customers in high-pressure situations.* In fact, PCI Writing Center Services provides consultation services to currently enrolled online students. The consultation service is a review of your written document providing feedback on your strengths and weaknesses as a writer. The PCI Writing Center is located within the Student Resources Hub of the LMS. Receiving assistance with your writing is quite simple! All you have to do is complete the form with the required information and the email will be sent to a PCI staff member and answered within 48 hours. When in doubt about your grammar, do not be afraid to consult a teacher, family member, coworker, or friend; a second set of eyes cannot hurt!  [Previous](https://blog.pcitraining.edu/blog/fafsa-season-is-here) [**](https://blog.pcitraining.edu/blog) [Next](https://blog.pcitraining.edu/blog/5-steps-to-be-more-comfortable-with-online-classes) ### NEWSLETTER ### CATEGORIES - [#Pinnaclecareerinstitute (69)](https://blog.pcitraining.edu/blog/tag/pinnaclecareerinstitute) - [PCI (39)](https://blog.pcitraining.edu/blog/tag/pci) - [#tradeschoolcareers (37)](https://blog.pcitraining.edu/blog/tag/tradeschoolcareers) - [#HVACtradeschool (32)](https://blog.pcitraining.edu/blog/tag/hvactradeschool) ### Latest posts [Missouri Fast Track Grant | Affordable Career Training at PCI](https://blog.pcitraining.edu/blog/missouri-fast-track-grant-affordable-trade-training-at-pci) **1-Oct-2024 [Can You Work While Attending Trade School?
