Our society is becoming more mindful of the ways we treat our home. This is demonstrated by our recent surge in the renewable energy sector.
Wind, water, and solar are various forms of renewable energy. We define this as energy that doesn't run out when used, which generally comes in a natural form. Clean energy is "infinite," so it will be available for years in the future and is not man-made. We can harness the energy into man-made items like wind turbines and solar panels to generate power and electricity!
The reason renewable energy is so important is that it allows us to start decreasing our use of the Earth's limited resources such as oil and coal. Why use depleting resources when we have ample natural resources at our disposal?
Because this is such a growing field, it will continue to improve and become more efficient. It's also much more cost-effective, so more and more companies are choosing to make the investment. Some other benefits include: job creation, free and abundant source of energy, space-conscious, and they are able to provide an additional income for farm-owners.
There are currently about 70,000 wind turbines across the U.S., with several more on their way in the coming years. Wind is America's largest source of renewable energy and provides about 7% of the nation's electricity.
Not only is renewable energy a more lucrative field, it's much healthier for the human race! The coal industry can have serious repercussions on lung health and it is a huge environmental pollutant. The oil industry can cause huge spills, destroying wildlife ecosystems.
This Earth Day, we are celebrating the advancements our world has made in the renewable energy field, and we look forward to what will come.
Pinnacle Career Institute is proud to be a part of this change! If you are interested in joining the alternative energy movement, our Wind Turbine Technician Program is a step in the right direction.
