Goal setting is a major part of an individual’s path to success. It is also a major aspect of what Pinnacle Career Institute teaches all students when they begin their education here. Goal setting sets you up for major success in all aspects of life. To set goals is to look at your present situation and assess the path you wish to pursue.  I would like to touch base on what some may consider the two most important goals, long term and short term goals.

Long Term Goals – These are goals that take an individual much longer to achieve. They are normally completed in no less than 6 months but likely take a year or longer to accomplish. Some examples of long term goals could include earning a degree, getting a promotion, or even starting you very own business!

Short Term Goals – These are goals accomplished in 6 months or less. Some short term goals are often stepping stones to reach long term goals. Some examples of short term goals can include getting an A in a class, receiving more responsibility at work, or even becoming more organized.

With either one of these goals, one of the most important aspects is to write them down. When you write down your goals, you are making a commitment to yourself and they are reminders every day of the path you are working towards. So start today. Write down your major goals for your life, then look at how you plan to accomplish these goals day by day, week by week and even month by month. You'll be surprised at how focused you have truly become!
