Kansas City Energy Company Implementing More Wind Power

Evergy, an electric company based in Kansas City, Missouri announced their plans to implement the use of wind energy in the next 5 years.

Evergy issued a Request for Proposals for up to 1000 megawatts of wind energy to supply the needs of its customers.  The request is for projects that will be in service by 2026.

The energy company plans to change their direction away from coal power plants and has a goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2045.

According to the Daily Energy Insider, already almost half of the energy they provide is powered by emission-free sources.

This is huge for Kansas City, and we hope that Evergy inspires other electric companies to follow suit.  We're proud to be a part of the renewable energy revolution, and can't wait to see where the wind takes us.  ;)
