Job Demand for Medical Assistants in Kansas City Remains Strong

Overall growth for Medical Assistants has remained strong nationwide, and we find that this is also the case throughout Missouri and Kansas.

 

O*Net cites that there are a projected annual opening of 94,900 Medical Assistants each year – these are due to growth and net replacement. For Missouri they project 300 and 140 in Kansas, which marks and 11% to 14% growth respectively.

Kansas City specific data was pulled by the National Health career Association using Wanted Analytics. They found that there were currently 286 job opening for medical assistants in Kansas City. Of those, 90 were at major health care facility and medical centers.

 

The same study cited skills needed including items like sterilization, medical information, and patient Electronic Medical Records (EMR).Training and certification is the way to put yourself in the market for these careers. As the demand continues to grow, having in demand skills and demonstrable ability to perform in the field will become more valuable. National Certification such as the CCMA can put you in demand in what is a fast growing market.
