1. Stay connected with your instructors.
Your instructor wants you to succeed! Email, call or message them on Canvas if you have any questions or concerns. This is one of the best ways to stay on track because you have someone to hold you accountable.
2. Create a space you can learn in.
Have a designated place to do your schoolwork. Consistently working there will allow your brain to get used to the space and know it's time to learn. This can be a spare room, a corner with a window or even your back porch.
3. Keep distractions to a minimum.
Try to put your study space in a quiet area of your home. You will not retain any information if you are studying in front of the television! Turn your phone on Do Not Disturb and don't have any social media open on your computer or tablet.
4. Get organized.
The best way to keep up with your assignments is with a calendar. Use a planner, get a calendar app or set reminders on your phone! If you can see all of your assignments laid out in front of you, you can plan your time better.
5. Take breaks.
You will remember information better if your brain has time to process it. Give yourself a 10-minute break for every hour of schoolwork that you do. Set a phone timer and stick to it!
